Teeny Tiny Wishes

This is a stamp set that you NEED to have! 24 sentiments -- everything from Happy Birthday to Happy St. Patrick's Day with a whole lot of happiness in between! It's even better paired with the Modern Label Punch.

So here's what I am going to do! Buy the Stamps and the Punch together at a discounted price and you'll have the option of coming to a class or taking as a "kit to go" all the makings for 5 gift cards and envelopes. I'll send you home with a bonus template sheet so you'll always be able to whip together sweet but simple cards!

The class date is Tuesday, December 1st, at 7:00 pm at my NEW Stampin' Spot. If you can't make it to class, I'll deliver a kit with your supplies.

It's one flat price of $50.00. Discounted product. No shipping charges (hooray!). And a class.

Here's what you have to do. RSVP quickly by Friday, November 20th, so all the stamps will be here in time. Let me know if you're coming to class or need a kit. And skip online ordering this one and only time. This is a super secret Carla only promotion. But feel free to tell anyone -- and everyone!

Pretty Fair Stampin'!

Posted by Picasa

I'm turning our blue ribbon stampin' these days! I picked up one blue ribbon and one second place ribbon at the North Carolina State Fair. The winners are entirely made from Stampin' Up! products. (I get them back in a week when the Fair closesd, and I will post some closer pictures.)

Entering the competition was one of those things I would think about every year when I walked through the exhibits, and then never actually do anything about. This year I kept up with the registration deadline, filled out the forms, and carried my entries in past the Security Guard who "reckoned I didn't look like no terrorist".

There's a lot to love about NC!

Summer Memories!

Posted by Picasa

It's still in the 90s, and the humidity is ferocious this week, but the pool season is now a thing of the past. I put together a quick layout using the In Color Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry combo. The letters in the title are from "Defining Alphabet" and the stamp set is the (sadly) retired "Fun in the Sun".

School Supplies

Some of our "Traditional Calendar" friends began a new school year today. I fancied up a few basic pencil cases because I find school supplies irresistible!

I used a retired Stampin' Up! set called "Elementary Essentials". As long as I have children in elementary school, I will probably reach for this set again and again.

The boy combo is Bashful Blue/Brilliant Blue.

The girl combo is Melon Mambo and Basic Black.

You're on my Mind

There are three things I love about this card.

1) It is a very simple design that can be duplicated over and over again.

2) It makes use of the "Upsy Daisy" stamp set. I think the main focal image of this set, when stamped in light and dark, looks fabulous!

3) It makes use of the new In Color Melon Mambo which I am pairing often with Pretty in Pink. Love them together!

Stamp Set: Upsy Daisy
Paper: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo
Ink: Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Large Oval Punch, Melon Mambo Polka Dotted Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Convention Candy

One web site I keep turning to these days is Stampin' Addicts. It is all (or mostly!) Stampin' Up! and it is filled with positive energy and feelings (no griping allowed).

The ladies who run the site are back from Stampin' Up!'s annual convention in Utah and they have goodies to give away. Check it out!

Cheers to Craig!

Here's one for my youngest brother, Craig, who is celebrating a birthday this weekend! I like the "Cheers to You" stamp set because it adds to my small selection of masculine stamps. But it's also a set with girly options and even wedding wishes options because of the cocktail glass and champagne flute images!

Stamp Set: Cheers to You
Paper: More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive
Ink: White Craft, Close to Cocoa, More Mustard
Accessories: Wide Chocolate Chip Grosgrain ribbon, 1 3/8" circle punch, Jumbo Eyelet, Belnder Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals

An Elegant Thank You

I am in love with the new Designer Series Paper "Cottage Wall". No one is more surprised than I am to find out there is such a large place in my life for Orchid Opulence! To help me work my way through the patterns, I turned to one of my favorite sketch sources, the Mojo Monday blog. A sketch is usually the perfect thing to get me jump started and this week's example was no exception!

Stamp: Elegant Thank You
Paper: Whisper White, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive, rich Razzleberry, Cottag eWall DSP
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Wide Old Olive Grosgrain

Tea for Two

This birthday tea party invitation began as a stamping project and somehow ended up not having the first swipe of ink on it! Even so, it uses lots of great Stampin' Up! products.

The teapots are front and back layers of last year In Color Pink Pirouette -- one of my top 3 all time favorite In Colors. These invitations were a great excuse to help me blow through the excessive amounts of Pink Pirouette cardstock I purchased as it retired. The Designer Series Paper is also retired -- it's that sweet Candy Lane from Valentine's Day that I reach for over and over again.

I used the Small Oval Punch and the Scalloped Oval Punch and some narrow Very Vanilla grosgrain.

The teapot template can be found online.

A Little Razzle Dazzle!

It always take me a few weeks to find my comfort zone with Stampin' Up!'s new In Colors each year. I love that we get fresh, new, on trend shades to play with, but there is a learning curve each summer for me on what color goes with what! That's where my Designer Series Paper comes into play. All the mixing and matching is already done. So here is the Razzleberry Lemonade paper with a sketch from that great resource, Mojo Monday.

Stamps: Think Happy Thoughts
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo
Paper: Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, Basic Black, Whisper White, Crushed Curry
Extras: Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon, Fire Brad
Tools: 1 1/4" inch circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1/16" circle punch

Father's Day

Posted by Picasa

Don't forget Dear Old Dad -- stamp him something special this weekend! This sentiment is from a mini catalog set, And Many Mower, that has become my "go to" masculine choice. It has Father's Day and Birthday sentiments lawnmowers and remotes and recliners. Perfect!

This is also a good use of some of my favorite In Colors that are retiring at the end of June. Say good bye to Baja Blue and Kiwi Kiss here with the Urban Garden Designer paper. And go ahead and order what you need before these colors are gone forever. (Go to my Stampin' Up! website and "shop" for online ordering 24/7!).

One Person Can Make a Difference

I LOVE this sentiment from the "Flight of the Butterfly" set and found it perfect for end of the year teacher cards. Still working my way through the "Love You Much" Designer Paper in the Valentine bundle AND the loads of Pink Pirouette paper I have. That color is about to retire July 1st! Get all your favorite In Colors while you still can...

A Good Egg

I am so in love with the new Stampin' Up! Scalloped Oval punch -- it is just popping up on everything I make! This card features the stamp set "A Good Egg" and some of that Delicate Dots DSP I earned during Sale-a-bration. Perfect Spring colors! The Certainly Celery twill ribbon was also free during Sale-a-bration because somebody you know made quite a few purchases during her favorite stamping time of the year!

Oh, Baby!

Posted by Picasa

How cute is this? It's my version of the "baby onesie" card designed by awesome stamper Lauren Meader (see her Tutorial HERE). It only took a few minutes to create and the blue/green/pink/yellow/mint combination possiblities are almost endless!

No. St. Pat's Stamps? No Problem!

I apparently do not own even one tiny shamrock stamp so I had to improvise this year. I just grabbed that "Love You Much" stamp set (the one you bought with the Valentine's Bundle!) and dipped those hearts in green! I used "Glorious Green" in this example, but "Garden Green" is another good St. Patrick's green as well.

I am aware that four leaf clovers are luckier than three, but I liked the way this one looked better!

Pink and Green

This was my "go to" color combo in high school and college (I know -- I am planting myself firmly in the '80s when I tell you that!). But I saw this particular Regal Rose/Pink Pirouette/Certainly Celery combo in the Spring/Summer Idea Book and had to give it a whirl. And I have to say I never imagined how much use I would get out of that "Baroque Motifs" set. Wow!

Happy Valentine's Day!

So this is the one for my own special Valentine -- who as it turns out, never gets cards from me anymore! (Remember the old saying about the cobbler's children needing new shoes???). This one is very much like my Valentine -- uncluttered, and to the point!

More Love You Much!

This clean and simple Valentine's greeting is made with the pieces of the "Love You Much" bundle. The heart is from the stamp set, and the paper is more from Candy Lane. The coordinating cardstock is Pink Pirouette and that is Riding Hood Red ribbon and ink. I saw a few examples online where the ribbon was tied around the heart and I really liked the look!

You Still Have Time to Make These!

I'm not kidding! These "mini pizza boxes" are easy to make -- and for these I used the pieces of the "Love You Much" bundle with some coordinating cardstock. I loved the stamp sentiment that said "Hugs and Kisses" because that made these boxes perfect for -- well -- Hershey's Hugs and Kisses! These are going to school for our teachers....

The cutting and measuring instructions are in THIS tutorial over at Splitcoast.

Or the quick and easy version.

6" x 10" piece of cardstock.
In the trimmer long ways -- score in one inch down each side.
Flip the cardstock and score at 1", 5", 6", and 10".
Clip all the intersections to make flaps that can be secured with sticky strip and assemble the box.

I matted Candy Lane DSP for the tops of the boxes, added the 1 1/4" inch grosgrain (love it!), and stamped the sentiment. Then I filled them with all the candy I didn't eat first!

Sneak Peek!

There's a new catalog coming next month and here is a sneak peek at a few of the things in it! This fabulous paper is from the brand new Raspberry Tart Designer Series paper. The stamp is called "Elegant Thank You" and it will be sold alone -- not as part of a set! I have paired both of these new items with Regal Rose, Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss paper, ribbon and ink.

Don't forget the Inventory Blowout Sale going on now and the discount on retiring stamp sets. See it all AND order by heading to My Official Stampin' Up! Website and clicking on the "Promotions" box at the bottom of the page!
